Regions

Multi-Regions

Historically, Falua’s portfolio originates in different Regions.

Currently Falua has its own vineyards and wineries in the Tejo and Vinho Verde Regions.

Tejo

A unique terroir

It can be said of a vineyard that it is lush, that it is new, ancient, that it has a terroir, that it gives wines unique characteristics or it can be summed up to: Falua has one of the most beautiful vineyards in Portugal.

Most of the Falua vineyards are located in Charneca, the rest are located in Campo / Lezíria.

Vinhos Verdes

The roots of hospitality

It is believed that the origin of this “Quinta” dates back to the 12th century, a period in history when the mother of D. Afonso Henriques (King of Portugal) – D. Teresa – donated the land to the Hospital Order.

In the Middle Ages, hospitals were designed to welcome and give hospitality to travellers.

Quinta do Hospital is a fully walled property in Monção and Melgaço, sub-region of the Vinhos Verdes region.

Douro

A geological poem

The monumentality of the Alto Douro Vinhateiro landscape has universal value. In 2001, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

With its challenging mountain viticulture where the vineyards cover the slopes, creating an immense staircase of terraces and plateaus, this is a unique region where exceptional quality wines are produced.
